Snowfall ranged from 14 inches in Ocean Pines to less than an inch in Columbia and Baltimore. See snow totals across Maryland from the NWS.

MARYLAND — More than a foot of snow had fallen on some of the Eastern Shore of Maryland by Saturday afternoon, but as the nor-easter moves out, bitter cold will rush into the state. Low temperatures will drop into the low teens overnight, the National Weather Service said.

As of 1 p.m. Saturday, weather warnings for coastal Maryland and Virginia had been downgraded to a winter weather advisory. The areas of Wicomico, Somerset, inland Worcester, Maryland beaches and Accomack are under the advisory until 1 a.m. Sunday, the weather service said.

Sunday night's low will drop close to 20 degrees before temperatures climb above freezing again on Monday. By Wednesday highs will reach close to 50 degrees, with a high Thursday in mid-50s.

Snowfall totals ranged from less than an inch in parts of Montgomery and Howard Counties to 1.5 inches at Baltimore-Washington International Airport, an inch in Bel Air and Baltimore City, while up to a whopping 14 inches fell in Ocean Pines.

On Friday Gov. Larry Hogan declared a state of emergency for nine counties and directed the Maryland National Guard to activate 125 soldiers to help state and local agencies responding to the storm. Soldiers will be posted at armories in Southern Maryland and on the Eastern Shore, with 50 tactical vehicles available in the event people need to evacuate.

The storm officially became a “bomb cyclone” Saturday morning as it rapidly intensified, sending bands of snowfall that could tally 2 to 3 feet over southeast New England, The Washington Post reported.
