MD Weather: Snow Forecast For Super Bowl Sunday
Portions of Maryland could get an inch or two of snow on Super Bowl Sunday. A winter weather advisory is in effect early Sunday until 4 p.m.

MARYLAND — Portions of Maryland could see an inch or two of snow fall by Sunday morning, while several inches of snow is in the forecast for parts of central Virginia and the Blue Ridge Mountains, according to the National Weather Service.
A mix of rain and snow is forecast to arrive in the Baltimore region late Saturday night after another day of springlike weather, with high temperatures expected close to 60 degrees.
The winter weather could affect travel for people going to Super Bowl parties on Sunday.

The National Weather Service in Baltimore has issued a winter weather advisory that will be in effect from 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are predicted, with up to 4 inches locally.
Communities covered in the advisory include: District of Columbia, plus Cecil, Baltimore, Prince George's, Anne Arundel, Montgomery, Howard and Harford counties.

A mix of rain and snow is expected to turn to all snow by 2 a.m. Sunday as lows drop below freezing.
"At least occasional light snow is a good bet through sunrise, with some light accumulation possible, especially on grassy and elevated surfaces," The Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang said Saturday morning.
The National Weather Service says the chance of precipitation is 100 percent overnight. New snow accumulation of less than one inch is possible.
On Sunday expect snow to continue with snow showers likely mainly between noon and 4 p.m. Highs will reach the mid-30s.
Conditions will again feel like winter with a north wind of 7 to 10 mph, and gusts up to 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent again on Sunday.

Authorities said residents planning to drive to Super Bowl parties on Sunday or be on the road for other reasons to keep up-to-date on weather conditions in their area. The latest road conditions can be found online.
"Although it may not be a major snowstorm, there could be enough snow to make for slippery travel on Sunday for cities such as Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Richmond, Virginia, as people may be out and about going over to friends' houses to view the big game later in the evening," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dan Pydynowski said in a statement Saturday.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 57. West wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.
Saturday Night: Snow, possibly mixed with rain, becoming all snow after 2am. Low around 30. North wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Sunday: Snow before noon, then a chance of snow showers, mainly between noon and 4pm. High near 36. North wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 21. North wind 6 to 8 mph.
Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 32. Northwest wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
