Suspected Murder-Suicide Investigated After 2 Found Dead In Columbia Home

Howard County Police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide after two individuals were found dead in a Columbia home.

COLUMBIA, MD — Howard County police are investigating a suspected domestic murder-suicide in Columbia in which two people are dead.

Police were called to the 7500 block of Summer Blossom Lane at around 8:15 p.m. on June 30 after a friend of the two people at the residence went to check on them and discovered their bodies inside the home.

Ahmad Kharma, 23, shot and killed Shannon Buschner, 47, before shooting himself, investigators determined. A gun was found near Kharma at the scene, according to the Howard County Police Department.

The time the shooting happened and the motive for the shooting remain under investigation. Police learned that the two were in a relationship and both lived at the residence.

No one else is suspected to be involved, the Howard County Police Department reported.
