What's Open, Closed For Indigenous Peoples’ Day 2025 In Howard County
Here's what's open and closed Monday for Indigenous Peoples' Day 2025 in Howard County.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — County government offices, courts, the animal shelter and 50+ centers will be closed Monday in observance of the Indigenous Peoples’ Day holiday.
There will be regular Monday curbside trash, recycling, yard trim and food scrap collection and the Alpha Ridge Landfill will be open.
County parks, Gary J. Arthur, North Laurel and Roger Carter Community Centers, the Meadowbrook Athletic Complex, Harriet Tubman Cultural Center and Kiwanis-Wallas Hall will also be open Monday. The Cedar Lane and Schooley Mill Activity Rooms will be open, too, but by permit only. The Robinson Nature Center and county historic sites, including the Baltimore & Ohio Ellicott City Station Museum, will be closed Monday.

The Regional Transportation Agency (RTA) will operate on a regular weekday schedule. The 9-1-1 Center, police and fire departments remain staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For emergencies, call 9-1-1. For non-emergencies, call 410-313-2200.
Howard County Public School System students do have school on Monday.
