Man Shot In Parking Lot Of Howard County Restaurant, Police Say

Another man is facing charges after the shooting, which occurred around 3:30 a.m. Friday.

JESSUP, MD — A man is facing charges following a shooting at a Howard County restaurant that left one person injured, according to authorities.

Christian Kinuthia, 22, of Windsor Mill, was charged with attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault following the shooting that occurred around 3:30 a.m. Friday, according to Howard County police.

Authorities said the victim, a 25-year-old man, got into a physical altercation in the parking lot of McDonald’s, located in the 8700 block of Washington Boulevard, with a group of people that included Kinuthia. According to police, Kinuthia shot the victim during the altercation.

No one else was injured. Kinuthia remained at the scene, police said.

The victim was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he is listed in critical condition.
