You Said It: Comment Round-Up

A round-up of comments from stories on Columbia Patch.

We've assembled a smorgasbord of your comments from the past week:

$250,000 Contract Approved for New Howard County Schools Superintendent – “Cool last name but she's making as much as MoCo Supe[rintendent] who runs a system three times the size of HoCo.” – Bill Bissenas

From the Columbia Patch Facebook Page – “I guess she thinks she needs to drive a luxury vehicle around to remind people of her status as the Super. That monthly bump buys a nice Volvo sedan. And, she gets $25,000 to move ONE county away? Maybe two or three? That must be one big house with 450,000 pounds of personal belongings. Is this person married with 10 kids?” – Ted Cogdell

Wine With Your Wegmans? Second-Floor Liquor Store May Be on Tap – “Beware, if you live in Columbia, you might want to rethink your support for this behemoth liquor store at Wegman's. Personally, I am not against having the store. But if we allow these big stores to run the small village stores out of business, we are the ones who will suffer.” – Jim Fletcher

“The plan for a separately owned wine & liquor store above Wegman's is ingenious!!! Cudos to Wegman's and my sincere best wishes to Mr. Smith. The wine/liquor store/ wholesaler lobby has owned the Maryland legislature forever! “ - Harry

Missing CA Gym Towels: 42,000 Replaced a Year – “I've been a member of various gyms throughout my 20's, 30's and 40's. Not a single one provided towels for patrons. If I wanted to shower after my workout, it was my responsibility to bring my own supplies, including towels. Why do the patrons of CA gyms feel entitled to this service?” – edb

And from the Columbia Patch Facebook Page

“For what its worth, there is absolutely NO interest amongst CA leadership to do away with towel service.” – Tom Coale, CA Board Member

Wilde Lake KFC Boarded Up – Sonic anybody?

“It’s definitely and eyesore. How about opening up a Sonic? The closest Sonic is in Baltimore. :D” – michellefromtx

“I second the vote for a Sonics, as these are enjoyable establishments (when kept up) with a nice drive-in style to them.” – Brook

“Sonic would be the obvious choice. I would break my "no more fast food" for that chain to finally come here to Columbia.” – Derrick Jordan
