2 Shot At Capitol Raceway Outside Crofton, Suspect Sought: Police

CROFTON, MD — A man and a woman were taken to an area trauma center after they were shot Saturday night during an event at Capitol Raceway in the 1400 block of Capitol Raceway Road, authorities said.

Anne Arundel County Police said the shootings took place about 8:30 p.m. Both victims are expected to survive their injuries, officials said Monday.

The shootings happened as the Capitol Raceway was hosting the "County Boys vs. City Boys Racing Shootout/Car Show," FOX 45 reported.

Some drivers attempting to leave the area after the shooting were involved in a crash on Route 3 outside the raceway, the station said.

Although there was a large crowd at the race, detectives are unable to locate any witnesses, a police news release said.

The description of the suspect police had on Monday was a man with a purple shirt and a chipped tooth.
