Gambrills Man Among Top Finishers at Columbia Triathlon
Gene Severtson finished 7th out of 599 athletes in the race Sunday, and won the Armed Forces Challenge.

Gambrills resident Gene Severtson finished 7th out of 599 finishers Sunday in the Celebrating Heroes Triathlon in Columbia on Sunday, and had the best time among all members of the Armed Forces.
Severtson, 37, finished with an overall time of 1:24:07 to win the Armed Forces Challenge.
Five other Gambrills residents and four from Crofton also took part in the race, which featured a 0.62 mile swim, 16 mile bike ride and 3.4 mile run.
