Maryland Aerospace develops tiny things, but is getting bigger.

The Crofton-based company that specializes in making miniature satellites for NASA and other clients offered a glimpse of its new facility on Priest Bridge Court on Friday.

Local leaders including Anne Arundel County Executive Laura Neuman and Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-5th District) were on hand for a ribbon-cutting at the new space.

Maryland Aerospace CEO Steve Fujikawa founded the company in his basement. He decided to move into the new space after recently winning contracts to build two satellites for the U.S. Army.

Maryland Aerospace now 12 employees and develops miniature space technology for NASA and the Department of Defense. It developed a shoebox-sized satellite in 2009 that has since led to multiple government contracts.
