Anne Arundel County Public Schools officials have made a decision about classes on Tuesday, the district said Monday evening.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — With the forecast calling for heavy rain and wind gusts up to 55 miles per hour on Tuesday, Anne Arundel County Public Schools plans to dismiss classes two hours early.
Monday afternoon, the school district said deteriorating weather and road conditions mean all Anne Arundel County Public Schools will close two hours early on Jan. 9. There will be no afternoon half-day ECI classes, and no afternoon sessions at the Centers of Applied Technology North or South.
Additionally, all afterschool activities on Tuesday — including the school board budget hearing and all-county band tryouts — are canceled. New dates for those events will be announced later.
