GAMBRILLS, MD — Smashing Grapes closed its Gambrills location on Tuesday. The owner is replacing the wine bar with a farm-to-table restaurant in the same location.

The new eatery, dubbed The Farmhouse, will open at an unknown date this summer. It will be located in Waugh Chapel Towne Centre at 2383 Brandermill Blvd.

Smashing Grapes also closed its Annapolis location last July. The owner replaced that venue with another rustic restaurant called The Lodge, which opened in November 2023.

"The Farmhouse will provide the community with a renewed approach to dining, emphasizing the importance of supporting local farms and vendors that offer delicious and fresh ingredients," Titan CEO James King said in a Thursday press release announcing the change. "We are excited to launch this new concept in our Gambrills location, while still keeping our Smashing Grapes concept fruitful in the Columbia region."

Gambrills Smashing Grapes employees will transition to Titan's sister restaurants in Anne Arundel County.

Titan Hospitality also owns Blackwall Hitch in Eastport and Blackwall Barn & Lodge in Gambrills.

The Farmhouse is inspired by The Lodge and Blackwall Barn & Lodge.

"The Farmhouse ... will emphasize a greater focus on Titan's farm-to-table style cuisine, providing an even more local and rustic dining experience for guests," the release said.

The menu will feature locally sourced produce along with locally butchered meats and poultry. There will also be vegan and gluten-free options. Signature cocktails and mocktails will round out the offerings.

Local interior designer Bobbi Nock, who has designed all of Titan's properties, will continue that run with The Farmhouse. Nock will select the décor and furniture for the new eatery.

The Farmhouse will have three private dining rooms. There will also be a bar and lounge with an indoor fireplace. There will be an outdoor patio and a front porch as well.
