Michael Chris Loucas, 81; Maryland Hall of Fame Boxer

Michael Chris Loucas, 81, died on Dec. 5, 2015.

He was a beloved father, husband, Maryland Hall of Fame boxer and teacher of physical education at Dundalk High School, Battle Grove Elementary School and North Point Junior High School. He was the Hike Master and Unit Leader at Camp Airy, Thurmont, Md., for 23 years; a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Collier County, Fla., for 10 years; St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Baltimore, MD-Palikaria and Sunday School teacher for 23 years; Cabell/Lincoln County Work Camp, Huntington, W.V., Beans and Bread, Baltimore, Meals on Wheels, Harford County.

Husband of the late Ann Alatis Loucas; cherished Father of Lia Freeman and her husband Rev. Russell Freeman, Michelle Loucas and her husband Robert Loucas; grandfather of Lillian Alatis Freeman, Wyndham Freeman, Victoria Freeman, Roxanne Pepper Loucas, and Smith Ember Loucas. Dear brother of Bill Loucas (deceased) & wife Sandi, Fallston. Christine Sarris & husband Sam Sarris, Fallston; Manuel Loucas & wife Susan (deceased), Forest Hill. Beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc., 610 W. MacPhail Road, (at Rte 24) on Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, Dec. 10, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Trisaghion Service Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Loucas will lie in state at the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church on Friday at 10 a.m. with funeral to start at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at the adjoining church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mike and Ann Loucas Scholarship Fund of the Philly Free School, Philadelphia, Pa.; Habitat for Humanity of Collier County, Naples, Fla., or Camp Airy, Thurmont, Md.
