Dundalk Sears On List Of Stores Closing
The struggling retailer is closing 18 Sears locations, including the one at Eastpoint Mall.

DUNDALK, MD — One Sears location is on the chopping block in Maryland, along with 17 more Sears stores and 44 Kmart locations nationwide. The Sears at 7885 Eastern Boulevard in Baltimore will close in late January 2018, while the auto center will shutter in early December, according to Sears Holdings.
The store is located at Eastpoint Mall. It was the only Maryland store on the list of closures announced this week.
Sears, which also owns Kmart, said employees were notified of the closings on Thursday, and stores will close by the end of January 2018.

"It's important to note that these stores will remain open to serve members during the holiday season," Sears said in a press release. "Eligible associates impacted by these store closures will receive severance and will have the opportunity to apply for open positions at area Kmart or Sears stores. Customers can use the store locator function on our web sites to find the location of their nearest Kmart and Sears stores."
Liquidation sales will begin as early as Nov. 9, according to Sears, which reported it selected unprofitable stores to close as it right-sizes its footprint across the country.

In June, the retailer announced it was closing two Sears stores in Maryland, one in Hunt Valley and the other in Hagerstown. There was another round of closures announced in August that did not include any Maryland locations.
