Three Charged in Feb. 18 Murder in Middle River

Robert Holiday of Baltimore was shot to death Feb. 18 at a bus stop near the Hawthorne community.

Baltimore County police officials have arrested three people in connection with the February shooting death of a man in Middle River.

Robert Michael Holiday, 27, of the 2300 block of Ashland Avenue in Baltimore city, died shortly after being shot Feb. 18 near a bus stop on Eastern Boulevard near Kingston Road in the Hawthorne community.

Police arrested Michael Desmon Martin, 22, and Mikal A. Martin, 20, both of the 2300 block of Barkley Place in Suitland MD, and Laquesha Maria Lewis, 24, of the 200 block of Shagbark Road in Essex, according to a statement from police officials.

Two other people were shot during the incident, according to police.

Shyteirra S. Deas of the 4300 block of East Lombard Street in Baltimore  and Lavar M. Young of the 2900 block of Dunmurry Road in Dundalk survived their injuries.

The three victims, who were acquaintances, were standing on the street near a bus stop on Eastern Boulevard near Kingston Road at about 11:50 p.m. Feb. 18, when one or both of the Martin brothers approached them and began shooting, according to police.

When police responded to the scene, they found the victims lying in the roadway.

A police investigation showed that Lewis and Holiday, who have a child together, had a verbal and physical fight earlier in the evening at her Essex home. After Holiday left her home, Lewis sent him a threatening text message, police said.

Lewis talked to Holiday on the phone for about 40 minutes afterward, while she was also text-messaging Michael Martin with information about Holiday's whereabouts, according to the investigation. Police said Lewis was in a relationship with Michael Martin.

The Martin brothers then found Holiday at the bus stop and started shooting, according to police, who aren't certain whether one or both of the Martins fired shots at the victims.

After serving a search and seizure warrant on the suspects, police recovered evidence linking the Martin brothers to the crime scene.
