Six of nine passengers on a boat were injured when the boat exploded Monday afternoon.

Six people were injured when a boat engine exploded Monday on the South River near Edgewater.
The incident took place around noon on Memorial Day near the Oak Grove Marina, said Chief Keith Swindle of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. The operators refueled a 32-foot Wellcraft vessel at the marina, and were trying to restart a stalled engine when the explosion occurred, Swindle said.
None of the injuries were life-threatening, Swindle said.
