Adventures in South County: M Thai Kitchen
My first official "adventure" in south county starts at a local Thai hot-spot.
Thai restaurants are somewhat of a mystery to me.
I don't know if it's the cuisine itself, but it seems like every Thai place I go to just gets better and better. in Edgewater was no exception.
My wife and I decided to have lunch there this past week and once again, I was blown away by the far-off nation's culinary brilliance.

We both started off with the deliciously sweet flavors of Thai iced tea. If you haven't tried it, stop reading and go get one. It's incredible. We skipped any appetizers even though 's spring rolls are heralded as second-to-none. Just ask the baristas at .
Owned by Art and Mod Cockran, the local restaurant has a special day once a year where they give away spring rolls for free. No kidding. I'll definitely write an article when they announce the next giveaway.

I'm a big fan of pad see ew noodles, so I ordered a spicy plate of beef noodles. But when my plate arrived no more than 10 minutes later, the display of the dish caught my eye as much as its flavor. A bright orange "carrot flower" accompanied the various colors of the noodles. It was really quite a sight.
My wife ordered a chicken pad Thai dish that made her brow sweat with heat. She was glad to have the Thai iced tea nearby. The food was nothing short of brilliant and as someone who's still learning about the area, I was excited to learn there was a place like nearby.
If you're looking for a break from traditional American cuisine and willing to venture into a welcoming atmosphere of heat and fiery noodles, M Thai Kitchen is your place.
Where should I go for my next "adventure?"
