Anne Arundel County Announces Emergency Preparedness Contest for Students

OEM is holding two contests in observance of National Emergency Preparedness Month.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY - To observe National Emergency Preparedness Month in September, the Office of Emergency Management is offering two contests to help spread the word about emergency preparedness. It is important for families to prepare for emergencies by building kits, developing communication plans, and knowing where to go in emergencies.

These contests will be open to kindergarten through 5th grade and middle through high school students to bring families together in emergency preparedness activities. Contests start Monday, August 1, 2016 and end September 1, 2016. A winner from each contest will be recognized at the Emergency Preparedness Expo on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Marley Station Mall.
