Is your pet in need of a blessing?
Bring him or her to All Hallows Episcopal Church in Davidsonville Sunday for the parish's annual Blessing of the Animals. The event is held in honor of the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of Animals.
"In honor of the saint’s pledge to care for creation, people from throughout the community are invited to bring their animals to be blessed. We experience great delight in bringing our beloved creatures forward for a blessing, recognizing how their sheer presence blesses our lives," wrote the church on the Facebook page for the event.
Community members and church members alike are invited to bring their pets, photos of deceased pets, stuffed animals or "pets in your heart" to be blessed Sunday.
