Business: What's Open, What's Not After Hurricane Sandy

The Kmart off Solomons Island Road is boarded up, but that doesn't mean it is closed.

While driving around Edgewater and Davidsonville, probably one of the most shocking sites was the completely boarded up Kmart off of Mitchells Chance Road.

At first glance, it looks like the all-purpose mart is closed for good. But after taking a closer look, I learned managers there decided to put up the boards in case Hurricane Sandy got really out of hand.

However, the store itself is open for residents hoping to escape their homes now that the storm has passed.
