Chas & Fran's Place Opening Soon In Edgewater

The owners of the recently closed Davidsonville Country Market are gearing up for a new venture.

Area residents lamenting the recent closing of the Davidsonville Country Market will soon have a reason to celebrate.

Yesterday, Patch reported on the recent closing of Carlson's Donuts & Thai Kitchen on Mayo Road. The sign for Carlson's was already down, and a new sign advertising another restaurant was already in its place.

The sign is advertising a new restaurant to be called Chas & Fran's Place, and it looks the owners of the new restaurant are the same as the owners of the recently closed Davidsonville Country Market.

Last month, during an interview about the closing of the market, owners Chas and Frannie Thompson told Patch that they were planning on opening a breakfast place in Edgewater sometime soon. Further proof—a whiteboard sign reading "Eat here or we will both starve. We will miss you. Davdsonville Market!" is already decorating the new restaurant's front window.

Though there's no word on the official opening date, by the looks of the vacant store front, it's going to be at least a few weeks. A contractor was at the store Tuesday measuring for window lettering, and told Patch the new owners wanted to get the sign up right away.

According to the sign, Chas & Fran's Place will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 118 Mayo Rd. in Edgewater.
