Neighbor, Firefighters Rescue Dog from Two-Story Fire

The flames caused approximately $200,000 in damage, according to a fire official.

UPDATE (5:30 p.m.)—The one-alarm fire in Tracys Landing Friday caused approximately $200,000 in damages and was possibly caused by a faulty chimney, Anne Arundel County Battalion Chief Steve Thompson said.

Firefighters, with the help of a neighbor, also rescued a dog that went missing as the one-alarm fire consumed the two-story home.  

The dog was taken to a local vet and is expected to make a full recovery, Thompson said.

Firefighters responded to a report of a fire at the 6400 block of Old Solomons Island Road in Tracys Landing around 11:45 a.m. Friday. No one was inside the home during the incident.
