Edgewater Girl Scouts Celebrate 100-Year Anniversary
Local Girl Scouts held a singalong and baked Girl Scout Cookies, the same way they were done 90 years ago.

In celebration of the 100-year anniversary of Girl Scouts, hosted the Girl Scout Chorus of Central Maryland and more than 100 scouts and leaders for a traditional singalong.
Kelly DuBois, Alexandra Ferruzza, Haley Cromwell, Hannah Cromwell and Alyssa Sloan joined the chorus last fall to prepare for the event.

The girls baked and served the original Girl Scout Cookie from the 1920s as the snack. The sugar cookie is cut into the trefoil shape and decorated with green sugar crystals.
The famous Girl Scout Cookies sale started about 90 years ago. Troops were given the recipe along with the cookie cutter to bake and sell cookies.
