Edgewater Homeowners Association Awarded Best in Region

The South River Colony Conservancy Inc. was named the best in communication when it came to its residents and receiving feedback.

A regional community association institute named Edgewater’s South River Colony Conservancy Inc. homeowners association as one of the best in the Washington metro area in 2011.

The Washington Metropolitan Chapter Community Associations Institute (WMCCAI) said in a release that the Edgewater association won “Communicator of the Year.”

South River Colony Conservancy Inc. won because it “demonstrates commitment to educating and informing residents through accurate and relevant information and receiving member feedback,” according to the release.

The local homeowners association also excelled in using print, electronic and other established forms of communication when working with its residents, according to the WMCCAI.

South River Colony Conservancy Inc. was one of 38 other associations competing for recognition from the WMCCAI, which also recognized awards for best small, medium, large and very large community associations.

It also was the only Maryland association recognized by the institute.
