Four Years Later, Slain Annapolis Man's Case Unsolved

In a recent interview with The Capital, detectives from Anne Arundel County's Cold Case Unit discussed the case of Frank R. Jones, a Davidsonville man killed in 2008.

Four years after the body of Frank R. Jones was discovered on a back road in Davidsonville, Anne Arundel County Police detectives are still looking for the suspect.

Detective John Gajda of the police department’s cold case unit told The Capital last week that the 38-year-old Jones was beaten, shot and killed. But after years of investigation, no leads or evidence have emerged to help detectives solve the case.

Following the homicide almost exactly four years ago on Feb. 20, 2008, police officials told The Washington Post they could not say for sure where Jones was killed.

“It’s a very frustrating case,” Gajda told The Capital.

Jones’ mother, Linda Jones, told The Capital her son wasn’t the type of person who would mingle with dangerous people, and that she has heard all the rumors surrounding his death, such as speculation about where he may have been killed. Years after her son died, she still longs for closure.

The Capital reported that Jones’ death may have been linked to a homicide that occurred just three days earlier in Severna Park. However, Gajda could not connect the two with certainty.
