Homestead Gardens Llamas 'Going On Vacation'

The llama barn at Homestead Gardens will be closed until the Tomato Festival in August.

It appears the llamas of in Davidsonville are "going on vacation," according to the local garden center's website.

Recently, residents may have noticed that the animals were missing from their usual spot at their barn. 

"The llamas are going on vacation for a few weeks, so the Llama Barn will be closed until the Tomato Festival and Chili Cook-Off on August 27th," according to the Homestead Gardens website

No one who worked with the llamas at Homestead Gardens was available to comment over the phone on why they're taking the "vacation."

But on Homestead Gardens' Facebook page, one resident inquired about the lack of llamas and the garden center wrote, "The llamas have retired for the most part. They may show up at special events from time to time. You can still keep up with the herd by following Ginger the Llama here on Facebook."
