Local Student Concludes Experience as Mock Councilwoman
Madison Fredericks of Southern High spent her Monday sitting in a mock council meeting with her fellow student representatives.
Southern High student Madison Fredericks finished up her adventure as a mock councilwoman Monday by participating in a simulated county council meeting with other students in Annapolis.
Last Tuesday, (R-7th District) attending a council work session, speaking with constituents and taking a tour of Londontowne. She spent her lunch that day with various organization leaders at the and learned much about the day-to-day experiences of being a local representative.
“[Government and law enforcement] really interests me,” Madison said last Tuesday. “Going out there and helping people really interests me.”

On Monday, Madison and her fellow mock representatives simulated a session where they introduced bills and performed other technical procedures.
“This was an excellent opportunity for me. I was really excited to come out today,” Madison said at the Driftwood Diner.
