Lothian Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Stabbing
Police say a man received multiple stab wounds Saturday morning after a disagreement went awry.
A Lothian man was charged with first-degree attempted murder after police said he stabbed another man multiple times following an argument on Sands Road early Saturday morning.
Police charged Jerome Otto Waters, 55, of the 5200 block of Sands Road in Lothian, with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
At about 5 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the 1300 block of Mt. Zion Marlboro Road in Lothian for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, police said they learned that a stabbing took place a short distance away, on the 5400 block of Sands Road.

According to the press release, a 50-year-old man was suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper body. An acquaintance of the victim drove him to the AAA Ambulance Service, where he was then transported to Prince George’s Trauma Center. Police said the victim’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
Police said the victim and several witnesses identified Waters as being involved in the stabbing incident. Officers also learned that Waters and the victim knew each other, and that the stabbing may have occurred because of a prior disagreement, according to police.

Officers arrested Waters at his home on Saturday, police said.
