Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Route 2 Accident
The details surrounding the accident were unknown as of Monday night, said Anne Arundel County Fire Chief Michael Cox.

A man sustained life-threatening injuries Monday night when his truck went across two oncoming lanes and struck a tree on Route 2 near Poplar Point Road, authorities said.
The 1998 Chevy pickup truck was traveling south when it “failed to remain in the center,” Anne Arundel County Police Department spokesman Justin Mulcahy told Patch in an email.

“The vehicle traveled across the two northbound lanes and left the roadway, striking a tree in the front yard of the 2600 block of Solomons Island Road,” according to Mulcahy.
Anne Arundel County Fire Department Chief Michael Cox said emergency crews received a call about the accident around 6:41 p.m. When they arrived, paramedics and firefighters found a 45-year-old man trapped in his car with life-threatening injuries, Cox said.

The injured man was flown to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore by Maryland State olice phelicopter.
