Oyster Restoration Center Hosts 'Alternative Spring Break'
Students from colleges in Virginia will assist with oyster habitats as part of a program organized by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

Ten students from Virginia Tech and the University of Virginia will skip trips to Cancun or Daytona Beach this week in favor of doing some good for the environment.
The students will take part in an "alternative spring break" sponsored by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, which includes a trip to the Oyster Restoration Center in Shady Side.
Students visited the center on Wednesday to help build 30 “reef balls” for oyster habitat. They will return to the Oyster Restoration Center on Thursday to finish the work.
