Police Searching for Xtra Mart Attempted Robbery Suspect
A man wearing a bandana attempted to rob a local convenience store early Saturday morning, police said.
Officers are searching for a man that tried to rob the Xtra Mart Fuel in Edgewater early Saturday morning, according to Anne Arundel County police.
Around 1 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the Xtra Mart Fuel in Edgewater at 3080 Solomons Island Rd., which also serves as a 7-Eleven. Upon arrival, they learned that a man entered the mart, displayed a knife and demanded money from a store employee, according to a police press release.
However, the clerk was “unable to comply” with the suspect’s request, so the robber was not able to take any money, according to the release.

Wearing a bandana to cover his mouth and chin, the suspect ran out of the store, headed south on Solomons Island Road and got into an unknown vehicle. Several officers including a K-9 unit searched for the suspect but were unable to find him, police said.
