2 Facing Drug Charges after Police Investigation
Police said an Edgewater man and woman were allegedly caught in possession of more than $500 worth of drugs and paraphernalia.
Police arrested two Edgewater residents after concluding a drug investigation and executing a search warrant at a house on 6th Avenue, according to a press release from the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
At about 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, officers entered a home on the 3600 block of 6th Ave. in Edgewater and allegedly seized marijuana, illegal prescription pills and various types of paraphernalia, the release stated.

According to police, officers confiscated 13.6 grams of marijuana, Oxycodone and other drug materials with a street value of $512. Equipment used to cultivate marijuana plants was also seized, according to the press release.
Two residents of the home were arrested in connection with drug possession, police said. They were identified as John Oldfield Boyer III, 26, and Elizabeth Stoffel, 30. They face charges of possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Boyer is facing an additional charge of possession of narcotic pills.

Dating back to 2003, Boyer has been charged with marijuana possession three times. His recent arrest will make the fourth time he’ll face drug possession charges, according to the Maryland Judiciary Case Search website.
This is the first time Stoffel has faced drug possession charges, according to the case search website.
