Power Hawks, Sweet Frog Team Up for Fundraiser
Thirty percent of all proceeds went to South River's robotics team last week during a special fundraiser.

Frozen yogurt fans were surprised last week as they saw small robots cruising around the floor of Sweet Frog in Edgewater for a fundraiser with South River’s robotics team.
The team of young engineers, known as the Power Hawks Robotics Team, held a special fundraiser at Sweet Frog last Wednesday. Ten team members and three mentors set up a table to display information about the team, while four robots moved about inside the store.
Two of the machines served as “greeters” as customers came in for frozen yogurt, while the other two were operated by guests interested in learning more about the team.

Liz Preston, a Power Hawks parent, said the team wanted to specifically thank Sweet Frog’s manager Robert Gilbert, as the team received 30 percent of all the proceeds when the Power Hawks were mentioned to the cashier.
Moving forward, the team is slated to compete in a special Lego League qualifier tournament on Dec. 8 at South River.
