Readers' Choice: Get Your Sandwiches at Wharfside

won its this week after local residents said it has the best sandwiches in the Edgewater, Davidsonville area.

The local restaurant, located off Central Avenue, received 131 of the 319 total votes. came in second with 85 votes and finished third with 42 votes.

Even though it was the second time Wharfside won a (the first one was for breakfast), chef Kevin Duffy was elated to win the award again.

“We’re just extremely happy. I can’t wait to tell [the kitchen staff],” Duffy said. “It shows something about everybody. From Rick at the top, trickling down to me, to the kitchen and service staff.”

Duffy said deserved the honor, and that one of the most ordered items on the menu is the Thursday special, a French dip sandwich.

“We also make an outstanding Reuben, cheesesteak and our turkey clubs are huge. The fresh ingredients really make it,” Duffy said.

When asked what was his favorite sandwich was, the chef quickly answered, “I’d probably get the French dip.”
