Santa Claus is Coming to South County

You better watch out, you better not cry—Santa Claus is coming to South County, courtesy of the Woodland Beach Volunteer Fire Department.

However, instead of bringing toys to good little girls and boys, St. Nick will be collecting gifts for children of families in need. 

"The Woodland Beach Volunteer Fire Department (WBVFD) has been honored over the years assist local families in need during the holidays. It’s become a long tradition of ours with the assistance of our fellow neighbors to ensure everyone in our community has a happy, healthy holiday season," according to the WBVFD fire department's webpage.

WBVFD will take Santa on four "runs" throughout South County on Sunday, Dec. 8. They are asking community members to contribute a wrapped gift, labeled with the gift's appropriate age, sex or size. Anyone unable to meet Santa on one of his four runs can leave the gifts at the station in person from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday or anytime Sunday.

When will Santa and WBVFD be riding into your neighborhood? There will be four separate runs Friday. Each will take place between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Santa Run One will visit Turkey Point, West Shoreham, Selby, Heron Cove, Loch Haven and Loch Haven Park; Santa Run Two will visit Woodland Beach, South River Park and Pine Whiff Beach, Southdown Shores and Withernsea; Santa Run Three will visit  South River Colony, Ponder Cove, Saunders Point and Beverly Beach; Santa Run Four will visit River Club Estates, Poplar Point, The Landings/The Villas and River Oaks.
