SoCo Chamber Hosting 'Christmas Crawl' Shopping Event

Eleven south county businesses are participating in a seasonal event, starting Friday, that encourages residents to keep their shopping dollars in the local community.

The Southern Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce is partnering with 11 small businesses in south county as part of its holiday Christmas Crawl—a promotional shopping event aimed at supporting community establishments.

Starting on Black Friday—Nov. 23—and continuing to Dec. 15, the local chamber is inviting shoppers to embark on a local shopping spree adventure that journeys throughout the south county region. In the Christmas Crawl, residents can go from store to store without traveling too far in between and knock out their holiday shopping lists.

The businesses partnering in the “crawl” primarily offer antiques, collectibles, home decorations and consignment items. However, residents doing the “crawl” can stop off at partnering eateries along the way too.

In addition to sponsoring and hosting the shopping-themed event, the chamber is holding a special “Holiday Shoppe” at its offices, featuring local artists, crafters and home-based businesses. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, their offices are open to the public starting on Black Friday and continuing to Dec. 15. The “Holiday Shoppe” is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, according to a press release.

“There is so much to see and do about south county during the holiday season,” said chamber president Cindy Morgan in a flyer to business partners. “In the spirit of the season, keep your heard earned dollars in your community.”

Shoppers can print out a special flyer—see here—that makes them eligible for a $50 gift certificate as well.

The chamber’s offices are located at 5503 Muddy Creek Rd. in Churchton.
