South County 'Pie Run' to Attract Hot Rod Army

During last year's Pie Run, more than 350 classic cars flooded the south county area to enjoy more than 800 freshly baked pies.

The following post was submitted by local resident Joanne Riley and edited.

In 1993, the owner of West River Market in Galesville, John Whitman, decided to accommodate a few of his customers’ requests to stay open on Thanksgiving morning.

Will Radigan and his friends from the local hot rod club welcomed the opportunity to get out of the house and drive their hot rods to the market to pick up their Thanksgiving pies. Thus, the first annual Pie Run was born.
