Police Investigating Suspicious Death in Davidsonville

On March 22, Nicole Burgess, 37, and a dog were found dead inside a Davidsonville home. Police determined Burgess died as a result of multiple stab wounds. It is unclear if this was a random or targeted incident, and police said this remains an active homicide investigation.

Police Release Photos of Suspect in M&T Bank Robbery

On March 4, the M&T Bank in Edgewater was robbed. Police said a man entered the bank, handed the teller a note implying he had a weapon and announced a robbery. On March 14, the Bank of America in Churchton was also robbed.

Real Fire Brazilian Grill Will Offer New Atmosphere

Real Fire Brazilian Grill announced it would be opening inside the former Bill Bateman's location. Owner Arlin Bleclic said he thought area residents are ready for a different and exciting dining option. The restaurant officially opened April 1. 

Dirty Paws Dog Spa Opens for Business

Furry friends in the Edgewater area now have a new place where they can be pampered—Dirty Paws Dog Spa on Mayo Road opened for business on March 1. The new business is a full-service pet grooming saloon and owner Dale Edwards has plenty of experience in caring for pets.

Readers Sound Off on South River Colony Vacancies

Edgewater-Davidsonville Patch asked readers what businesses they would like to see fill empty storefronts in South River Colony, and the response was overwhelming. More than 20 people sounded off in the comments section of the article, and even more weighed in on Patch's Facebook page. Readers mentioned all sorts of businesses they want to see come to the area; however, the most popular request was for an Italian restaurant.

Two Men Wanted in Robbery at Verizon Store

Police said two men robbed the Verizon Store in Edgewater on March 5. 
The victim told police that one of the men pressed what he believed to be a handgun into his back. The two suspects reportedly took cell phones and money from the store and ran away.

'Bartender Doyle' Serving Up Drinks at Stan and Joe's

Edgewater's favorite bartender found a new home. The man known as Bartender Doyle will now be serving up his famous margaritas at Stan and Joe's Saloon in Edgewater.
