U.S. Marshals Spotted Making Arrests Near Post Office

County police spokesman Justin Mulcahy said the incident was part of a federal investigation.

Area residents reported seeing several U.S. Marshals and Anne Arundel County police officers making arrests near the Mayo Post Office on Wednesday afternoon.

Edgewater-Davidsonville Patch's Facebook page blew up with residents inquiring about the incident, which took place at about 1 p.m.

County police department spokesman Justin Mulcahy said the U.S. Marshals were in charge of the investigation and that he preferred not to comment since it was a federal inquiry.

Patch contacted a U.S. Marshal public affairs representative, Dave Neumann, who said he needed some time to look into the specific incident.
