VIDEO: Hurricane Sandy Erases Londontown Shoreline
Piers and pathways out onto the South River were invisible Tuesday morning as high tides covered the local shoreline.
Hurricane Sandy's strong winds and heavy rain brought the South River's tide all the way up onto the street in Londontown on Tuesday.
Shortly after 10 a.m., cars had to maneuver around a miniature lake on Shore Drive just to get to and from their homes.
One passerby said he considered the neighborhood lucky, and said the effects of Hurricane Irene outweighed those of Hurricane Sandy—at least for now. Electricity seemed on throughout the area, including up and down Solomons Island Road and Muddy Creek road.
