What's Open, Closed in Edgewater for Christmas 2014?

While city offices and schools are closed on Christmas Day and Dec. 26, some businesses remain open for the holiday.

Here’s a list of what’s open and closed around Edgewater on Christmas Day and the next day.

If you know of a business that will be open and it’s not on the list, leave the name in the comments along with any special holiday hours.

Government:

• Anne Arundel government offices will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25, and on Friday, Dec. 26, for the Christmas holiday.
• Trash and Recycling — Refuse and recycling will be delayed one day. If your normal pick-up day is on Thursday, then collection will occur on Friday. If your normal pick-up day is on Friday, then collection will take place on Saturday.

Grocery Stores:

• Safeway — open until 8 p.m. Christmas Eve; open until 5 p.m. Christmas Day
• Food Lion — open until 6 p.m. Christmas Eve; closed on Christmas Day
• Giant Food — open until 8 p.m. Christmas Eve; open until 5 p.m. Christmas Day

Liquor and Wine Stores:

• Olde Solomon’s Wine & Spirits — open until 11 p.m Christmas Eve; open until 6 p.m. Christmas Day
• Edgewater Liquors — open until 7 p.m. Christmas Eve; closed on Christmas Day
• Colony Liquors — open until 10 p.m. Christmas Eve; closed on Christmas Day
• Londontowne Wine & Spirits — open until midnight Christmas Eve; open until 10 p.m. Christmas Day

Recreation:

Bow Tie Cinemas Annapolis Mall 11 open on Christmas Day with normal hours; check for movie times.

Libraries:

All Anne Arundel County public libraries will be closed Dec. 24-25.
