
The Howard County Animal Matters Hearing Board is looking for new members from Council Districts 1 and 3 (Elkridge is in Districts 1 and 2).
The seven-member board hears appeals of citations for violating animal control laws.
It also issues orders related to the law and reviews the budget of the county's animal control facility annually.

The board’s members serve five-year terms. One member must be a licensed veterinarian who practices in Howard County and at least three additional members must be “experienced in animal matters,” according to a statement released by the county. All members must be 18 or older.
The board meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Animal Control Facility (8576 Davis Rd.) in Columbia. Board members must be able to attend.
