Fostering Futures: Voices for Children Hosts Foster Care Month Event

Voices for Children, Inc. is Howard County’s Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program. Our mission is to advocate for the best interest of children (ages birth to 21 years) who have experienced abuse or neglect, and are placed in a foster home. We train and supervise community members to be CASAs, and they work one-on-one with a child in need, to ensure that their needs are being met. Voices for Children provides volunteers to all children in foster care in Howard County, as referred by the Circuit Court. After completing a training program, our volunteers are assigned a child in foster care to meet with regularly and to advocate for in Court. Our CASAs ensure that the foster care journey is as smooth as possible. Voices for Children is always looking for volunteers who are interested in making a huge difference. We provide extensive training and support, so volunteers always have guidance and access to resources.

Please join us for our Third Annual Event in support of National Foster Care Month “Fostering Futures,” helping connect the community with action to support our most vulnerable children launch into independence. We look forward to sharing with you a panel discussion, a video of some of our former foster youth who have aged out of care and a special opportunity to be together to honor the unique foster care experience. Sponsored by Voices for Children, Howard County's CASA Program and the Junior League of Howard County, partnering with Iota Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, African American Community Roundtable and the Howard County Library System.

The event will be held on Thursday, May 2, 6-8 pm at the Miller Branch Library. Registration is preferred, but there is no cost to attend.
