Silver Spring Man Killed in Route 29 Collision
The man's truck flipped over after leaving the roadway, killing him, according to police.
A Silver Spring man died after a single-vehicle collision around 7 p.m. Monday night on Route 29.
Police said Michael Joseph Fitzpatrick, 62, was driving southbound on 29 near Old Columbia Road when his vehicle, a 2003 Toyota Tacoma, drove off the roadway and overturned. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
A preliminary investigation by police determined Fitzpatrick was not wearing a seatbelt and that speed may have been a factor.
