11th Best Chinese Restaurant In The U.S. Found In Howard County
Yelp has released its 2024 "Top 100 Chinese Restaurants," which includes an Ellicott City eatery serving up authentic Sichuan dishes.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Two Maryland restaurants have made Yelp's 2024 "Top 100 Chinese Restaurants," including one in Howard County.
Sitting at No. 11 in the country on the Yelp list is Pepper House, 10176 Baltimore National Pike #105, in Ellicott City. The restaurant describes itself as an authentic Sichuan restaurant serving authentic noodles, dumplings, malatang, side dishes and more.
"Sichuan cuisine is famous for being spicy and fragrant, as well as using the numbing Sichuan peppercorn. Our dishes are customizable to your preferred level of spice and numbing. We can also accommodate gluten free and vegetarian requests," its website said.

Pepper House has a 4.7 rating on Yelp with more than 200 reviews. It has a higher rating on Google, with 4.8 stars on more than 370 reviews.
According to Yelp, it compiled this list by identifying non-chain businesses within the Chinese category and ranking them based on various criteria, including the total volume and ratings of reviews. All businesses included on the list had a passing health score as of Oct. 2, 2024, when available.
