1st Female Football Head Coach Breaking Barriers In Howard County

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — After playing for The Hawks, a professional women's football team in Connecticut, and the D.C. Divas, Wilde Lake High School science teacher Chantal Thacker has become Howard County's first female football head coach.

Thacker previously served as defensive coordinator for the junior varsity football team and plays linebacker with the D.C. Divas. She discovered the coaching staff at Wilde Lake was welcoming and "took her under their wing" as she took the reign of head coach.
