$50K Winning Lotto Ticket Brightens Howard County Nurse's Day

A Howard County nurse has won $50K on a Pick 5 lotto ticket. She discovered she'd won while at work and plans to buy an investment property.

COLUMBIA, MD — A Howard County nurse has won $50,000 in the March 26 Pick 5 drawing after she won $20,000 on a Pick 5 game three years ago.

On March 26, while on her way to work, the nurse stopped at Cradlerock Food Mart in Columbia and bought a Pick 5 ticket. She placed a $1 straight bet using a family birthday for her lucky numbers, according to the Maryland Lottery. Days passed until the Howard County nurse remembered to check her ticket. While on a break at work, she discovered her numbers matched the winning numbers.

“I was in disbelief, I wanted to yell and celebrate but I couldn’t at work and I didn’t want anyone to know,” she said.
