Adoption Challenge In HoCo Aims To Find Homes For 3K Pets Across Maryland

The Maryland 3,000 Adoption Challenge​ is underway this month with the goal of participating shelters placing 3K pets in loving homes.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — This month, participating shelters across Maryland are part of an adoption challenge to help 3,000 animals find homes, including right here in Howard County.

The Maryland 3,000 Adoption Challenge offers waived adoption fees and all adopted animals will be vaccinated, microchipped, spayed or neutered.

The Howard County Animal Control & Adoption Center, located at 8576 Davis Road in Columbia, is participating in the August challenge. Available adoptables from the facility can be seen here.

The adoption center is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30 to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They can be reached at 410‑313‑2780.
