HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available from the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center.
A 1-year-old bunny named Bugs is on the smaller side, but he's still awfully adorable and sweet. He loves to hang out with his humans once he's comfortable with them and prefers quiet surroundings. He also uses a litter box and enjoys scampering around inside a fenced-in area for exercise. He was rescued by a good Samaritan who learned that bugs was going to be turned loose outside.

Oliver was rescued by a Howard County police officer, scared and alone. No one has claimed him yet and his experiences have left him timid. This 15-pound peanut will need a dog savvy adult-only home and patient dog parents who will work on gaining their trust. He did well hanging out with another dog at the shelter but hasn't been introduced to cats yet.

Chintz is a 1-year-old female Chinchilla in search of her forever home. Chintz is an inquisitive little girl that will do well in a home with older children who will play with her often. In her previous home, Chintz was not handled much and will nibble and squirm when you attempt to hold her. Chintz will require a large multilevel enclosure for her to be comfortable and will require time out of her enclosure to play and exercise.

Purrfect Peter is a 3-month-old kitten who's a bit shy and will need time to settle into his new home. He arrived with his siblings at the shelter and would benefit from having another cat from which he can learn.

Peter's sibling Pablo needs a patient family that will allow him to settle into his new home, which is when his adorable personality will begin to come through. He may do well with another young kitten to help him break out of his shell.

Reserved and quiet Earl did well in his previous home with an older child and a cat. He loves to sit and bird watch, and seems to be a bit independent. At 2 years old, Earl has plenty of love left to give.

Friendly and inquisitive Bam Bam is a 7-month-old neutered male ferret who loves to be held. His previous owner suffered a serious health condition and couldn't keep him, so Bam Bam is ready for a loving permanent home. When he isn't being held by a staff member or volunteer at the shelter, he loves to snooze in his cozy bed.

Beautiful Ivory, a 3-month-old female pit bull terrier, is a bit hesitant around other dogs and will simply need a slow and controlled introduction to other dogs. In order to apply to adopt Ivory, you'll need to own your home, have a fenced-in yard and take her to obedience classes.

Bonnie with the beautiful ears is a 4-month-old female German shepherd. She's super smart and loyal. Her previous owner shared that she has been housebroken and is crate trained. She lived with a 3-year-old child and another dog, and did well with them. She hasn't lived with a cat though, and would need a slow and controlled introduction to one.

Sweet Juniper is an active 5-month-old mixed breed who arrived at the shelter as a stray. When is restrained, or not getting her way, she can get a little nippy, which is common in willful puppies. This just means she needs a family who will take her to obedience training after adoption. She'll fit in best in a home where kids are older.

Three-year-old Shadow is a spayed female mini rex rabbit with tons of spunk. She's independent and affectionate when she's in the mood.

Chatty Oscar is a 3-year-old neutered male Beagle mix who will need a home that doesn't connect to a neighbor, as in a townhome, duplex or apartment. Oscar happens to be housetrained and crate trained, and in his previous home lived with another dog and cat. He got along well with them as well as older children in the home, although he tends to chew things when left unattended.

Suede is a 1-year-old male coon hound Doberman mix. Since he's a vocal boy, he will need a forever family that can teach him to use his inside voice. Suede arrived at the shelter as a stray so it's unknown how he'll do in a home with small children or cats. He has done well with the dogs at the shelter that he's met so far. His new family will need to take him to obedience training.
