HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available from the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center.
Ranger is an adorable, male German Shepherd mix puppy. He is sweet, affectionate and loyal. He is sensitive and unsure with hands though. Ranger is doing well learning to trust staff workers with touching his ears and feet. He is smart and if you are gentle, he understands he can trust you. Ranger is exuberant when playing and needs to learn his basic puppy manners. Consistency and patience will help you show Ranger how to ask for attention by sitting and being gentle. He is a lovely boy.

Meet Meeko, an 8-month-old male boxer mix. Meeko is a docile pup that is easily startled and appears to be sound sensitive. He is also mouthy, like most puppies are, and will be required to go to obedience training once adopted. Meeko will prefer a home where the children are teenagers and can be an active part of his training. Here at the shelter, Meeko has met several dogs and enjoys playing with them. His playstyle is puppy like and he listens to corrections from other dogs. Meeko can’t wait to meet you at the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center.

Pabu, 1 year old, and Egon, 2 years old, are neutered male ferrets looking for a forever home with room for both of them. Pabu and Egon are active and friendly little guys that love to meet new people. In their previous home the pair lived with older children and a cat. Pabu and Egon can get a bit carried away while during play time and will nibble on your hands. They will do best in a home where the children are older or ferret savvy.

These adorable little guys are baby ducks that are looking for a home. They are only a couple weeks old. They need a safe habitat set up to keep predators away from them. They will also need a water source for swimming and exercise. They are adorable and if you have any questions about the care they need, feel free to call our adoption coordinator. We do not know if they are male or female yet but they have been given the names of Timmy and Jimmy.

Shaun is a 4-month-old male kitten who is vocal, playful affectionate with people he knows. He is shy and takes some time to warm up to you. Once he knows you, he likes to play and explore. This sweet boy is so unique and cute. Tripp is a mixed breed dog with some Sharpei mixed in him. He is only 1-year-old and is still silly and bouncy like a puppy. Tripp was born with a deformed leg but he makes a great example to everyone. He does not let that stop him. He is still happy to see you and tries to get closer to you by jumping up using his good leg. He is a very smart boy and is very affectionate. Tripp lays upside down and really enjoys belly rubs once he knows you. Tripp is sensitive, sweet and has times that he is unsure of something new. He is curious and if you just give him a minute, he will come over and check it out. Tripp has met a few other dogs running around the yard.
