HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available from the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center.

Described as lovely, sweet and loyal, 8-year-old Max is a mixed breed dog who cannot wait to find his forever home. He can be trusted loose in the home and previously lived harmoniously with another dog. He can be a bit nervous and needs someone to reassure him. He loves to go for walks, play fetch and engage with squeaky toys. He also enjoys car rides. He would do best in an adult home or a home with older children who can help with his continued training. Because he does have some American pit bull terrier in him, Max must go to a family who owns their home.

Ridge's age fall between five or six years and his personality lies between laid back and affectionate with a healthy dose of super sweet thrown in. He's a neutered male who enjoys spending time with quiet, gentle people. He has an adorable crinkly ear and was found lost and hungry by a kind person. He loves being inside and having a soft bed for naps.

Debra happens to be a blue hued kitty with cream markings who is front-declawed. Her sweet disposition lends itself to her gentle, laid back personality. She loves cuddling and is believed to be between 7 or 8 years old.

Two-year-old Nibbles, a guinea pig, likes to be held and did well with the children in his previous home. He will squeal excitedly when you hold him and loves to snack on fresh fruits and veggies.

One-year-old Albert the guinea pig enjoys time outside of his cage to run around and explore. He has a dominant personality and should be the only male guinea pig in the home.

Four-year-old Pushkin and Stormy are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Pushkin is male while Stormy is female. They're seeking a quiet home without kids. They're a bit bashful and take a bit to warm up. Stormy can be independent while Pushkin is more of a cuddler.

Six-year-old Orzo, a neutered male, got along well with other cats in his previous home. He's front-declawed, shy, sweet and comfortable around gentle people - he'll even purr once he adjusted to a human. He'll do best in an adult home or one with older children.

Cooper loves to have fun and play with other dogs. He's fine loose in the home while his humans are gone and enjoys going for walks. He's loving, loyal and obedient. He rides great in the car and has lived previously with a small dog and older children. Cooper is 6 years old and neutered. Because he appears to have some American pit bull terrier in him, it would be best if his next owner owned his or her home.

Reeses may be a tripod but doesn't let that slow her down one bit. At 11 months of age, this beautiful pit mix knows sit, down and paw commands. She'll take treats gently and cannot wait to find her forever family.

At 3 years old, Basil is accustomed to living with other cats even though he's slightly bashful but very loving. This neutered male loves to be held by his human and will chase toy mice and bouncing balls. He has a wonderful personality but isn't accustomed to children, so he'll do best in a quiet adult household or home with older children.
